World Trade Organization Delays U.S.-Mexico Tuna Rulings Until Mid-July

The World Trade Organization said it will delay until mid-July its final ruling in a pair of compliance investigations related to Mexico's dispute over U.S. tuna labeling regulations. Last year the WTO dispute settlement body granted Mexico's request to investigate Washihgton's alleged noncompliance with the terms of a 2015 WTO dispute ruling on dolphin-safe tuna labeling requirements. The WTO previously found U.S. dolphin-safe labeling rules violated international trade obligations because they discriminate against the Mexican fishing industry.
