China saw the amount of idled wind power fall about 30 percent in the first quarter after it maintained restrictions preventing the approval of new wind farms in some areas where turbines have been turned off. Unused wind power totaled 13.5 billion kilowatt-hours in the first three months, down 5.7 billion kilowatt-hours from a year earlier, according to a statement April 25 on the website of the National Energy Administration.
