EU Energy Law and the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Project: from Applicability to Legislative Action

It is time that the discussion on the applicability of EU energy law to import pipelines be concluded. It would appear that all major participants in the sector have, by now, agreed that EU energy law is not applicable to these pipelines. The application of EU energy law starts when gas volumes move into the internal EU gas market after the receiving terminal somewhere close to the border.
