ELECTRICITY: OFFSHORE WIND FARMS

The Dutch Government recently announced its intention to pave the way for the construction of an additional 7, OOOMW of offshore wind capacity on the Netherlands' continental shelf between 2024 and 2030. The tenders required to achieve this goal, together with the upcoming 2018 and 2019 offshore wind tenders, present interesting opportunities for potential investors and suppliers of goods and services to the offshore wind industry. In this update, the author briefly describes the state of play of offshore wind in the Netherlands and provides an overview of applicable legislation and a glance into the future.
