The origin of clothing dates back to prehistoric times. Primitive man fabricated coarse cloth from various fibres for protection from cold, rain and wind. India is primarily an agricultural country. Nature has bestowed India with wide varieties of vegetables, trees, shrubs and different kinds of grasses, which provide fibre for the manufacturing of numerous utility and decorative fibre articles.
