The acquisition of the manufacturing facilities and technology of digital-textile-printing pioneer Osiris Inkjet Systems by fellow Dutch company Royal Ten Cate - a giant of the technical-textile world - is only the latest twist in a long story of struggle and survival. Osiris led the world with its concept of an industrial-scale, ultra-fast fabric printer when it presented it at ITMA in 2003. Unfortunately, development delays meant the machine took six years to build and by the time the first Isis was installed at the high-end Italian printer Maver, in 2009, its technology - based on the 144dpi lma]e continuous print head - was already looking outdated.
