India Targets $60 Billion Textile Exports

India will aim to achieve textile exports of $60 billion in 2014-15, Kavuru Sambasiva Rao, the country's Textile Minister revealed, following the inauguration of the Tex-Trend India 2014 exhibition. He added that it was "heartening' to know that garment exports have been sustainably growing at the rate of 15% for the last nine months." Mr Rao said: "Apparel exports have grown at the rate of over 15% during April-December, 2013. The data for the month of December 2013-14 shows apparel exports was to the tune of $ 1.24 billion - registering an increase of 17.4% against the corresponding month of last financial year."
