摘要

Buoyed by higher investments, production and rapid exports in the post-quota regime, reflecting the resurgent mood of the Indian textile industry, the Indian Government has raised the bar on export target for textiles and clothing to US$ 115 billion by the terminal year of the Eleventh Five Year Plan period 2011-2012. Mr Shankersinh Vaghela, Textile Minister, Government of India recently stated that the upsurge of investments in the textile sector has prompted the Government to raise the bar on export target for textiles and clothing.
