There was a lot to digest at last month's International Construction Economic Forum (ICEF) in Amsterdam. You can read about many of the key talking points - including the winner of the coveted International Construction Project of the Year Award - starting on p. 14 in this month's issue, but here are a few of my personal observations from the day. iC contributor Scott Hazelton of IHS Global Insight kicked off the conference with what I took to be a reasonably up-beat assessment of the global construction market. Growth should be around +4% to +5% this year and next, and although there is no 'boom' expected, many key countries should enjoy better market conditions next year.
