Bechtel COO

US contractor Bechtel has named Brendan Bechtel president and chief operating officer (COO), with a seat on the Board. As the son of chairman Riley Bechtel, he is the fifth generation of the Bechtel family to become president of the 116-year old company and will report to CEO Bill Dudley. Mr Dudley said, "Brendan has proven himself as an extraordinary leader, earning the respect of colleagues and customers while working in many diverse sectors of the company."
