Many people have lots of abiding memories of various IBC shows over the years - the sort that rattle round un-noticed in your head then pop up in the middle of a train journey somewhere, leaving the rest of the carriage to wonder exactly what you're smirking at quite so evilly and is it legal (answer: probably no). This one though is a pre-watershed, family-approved daylight hour's memory. Hell's teeth, it even concerns work. Essentially it involves being lured to the Pinnacle stand a couple of years ago to get a one on one PowerPoint presentation from chairman of the board, Mark Sanders, via his trusty laptop. Now normally you could use this sort of meeting to fight fires, so effectively do they suck any oxygen out of the room, but this one was genuinely fascinating. Sanders basically sat down and, over a cup of coffee, went through his Rules of Acquisition (cue weak StarTrek pun: not bad for a foreign guy), which detailed the entire process and exactly how you had to go about it to make it work properly. It was interesting, it was informative and, most of all, it got you looking round the Pinnacle stand and thinking 'Crikey, it's grown a bit over the past few years, hasn't it?'
