The UK is a shining light in the roll out of digital TV acrossrnEurope. According to the latest figures released by UKrntelecoms and broadcasting regulator Ofcom in June 2007,rnmore than 80% of UK homes now have digital television onrntheir main TV set. In Ofcom's Digital Television ProgressrnReport for the first quarter of 2007 (January-March),rnhousehold take-up of digital television now stands at arnrather impressive 80.5% of homes - that is 20.4 millionrnproperties - up from 77.2% the previous quarter. The reportrnalso shows that Freeview is now on the main set in 8.4 million homes, up from 7.7 million in the previous quarter, and has now overtaken the number of Sky UK subscribers which amounted to 8.0 million in the first quarter of 2007.
