Developments in production techniques mean that system cameras are now largely used on live and live-to-tape (or more accurately live-to-server) television, either in studios or in outside broadcasts. The increase in sophistication of OBs means that very large numbers of cameras are now used: 20 or more for even routine coverage of a sport like football, for example.
