A number of Europe's regional airlines are mulling fleet renewal programmes, but at a time when cost cutting is the order of the day, they — or their major airline parents — are tending to turn to the pre-owned aircraft market to meet their needs. Just ask Jacques Bankir and Geoffrey O'Byrne, respectively CEO of Regional and City Jet, both fully owned subsidiaries of new European mega-carrier Air France-KLM. The two men have been arguing for some time in favour of a fleet renewal programme for their regional jet fleets in the 70-seat+ category.
