The claimant, Madonna, took the view that ANL's response to her 'Statement of Contentions', which was the equivalent of the usual Particulars of Claim (see the immediately preceding report, number 32047), did not provide a full pleading to certain items. Madonna therefore sought an order that the particular matters be pleaded to.rnThe judge criticised the way the matter had arisen, saying that it was more a request for further and better particulars, in which case there should be a document setting out the allegations as to which particulars or elaboration were required. ANL should then have been invited to respond appropriately and for issue to be joined if the response was insufficient.
