Evidence of a longfelt need for a therapeutically effective, extended-release formulation of cyclobenzaprine and the failure of others to formulate one strongly supported a conclusion of nonobviousness of patents covering a modified-release dosage form of skeletal muscle relaxants and a method of relieving muscle spasms with the patented formulation. Additionally, the patents satisfied the best mode disclosure requirement.
