RISK-INFORMED MANAGEMENT OF EUROPEAN RIVER BASINS

摘要

The European Union has attempted to provide the research needed to meet its environmental management needs by funding large multi-institution and multinational projects. This book presents the results of one such project, RISKBASE, which reviewed and synthesized prior projects and relevant literature. The goal was to develop an approach for implementing risk-based management of river basins. The target audience is the developers of River Basin Management Plans, under the European Water Framework Directive. However, anyone engaged in ecosystem management could benefit from the concepts presented by the numerous authors of this book.
