摘要

The EC-project BRAHMATWINN was carrying out a harmonised integrated waterresources management (IWRM) approach as addressed by the European WaterInitiative (EWI) in headwater river systems of alpine mountain massifs ofthe twinning Upper Danube River Basin (UDRB) and the Upper Brahmaputra RiverBasins (UBRB) in Europe and Southeast Asia respectively. Social and naturalscientists in cooperation with water law experts and local stakeholdersproduced the project outcomes presented in Chapter 2 till Chapter 10 of thispublication. BRAHMATWINN applied a holistic approach towards IWRM comprisingclimate modelling, socio-economic and governance analysis andconcepts together with methods and integrated tools of applied Geoinformatics.
