Seeking yield has practically become a mantra among investors as they seek to boost returns in the current market environment of uncertain monetary policy and volatile capital markets. With the persistent low-growth economic environment, tapering of U.S. Federal Reserve support on the horizon, bond yields at historic lows and concerns about inflation, investors are digging deeper and looking further afield for better-performing alternatives to traditional fixed-income and equity investments. "The market for real assets is growing" says Graeme Conway, senior managing director, Macquarie Group. "Right now it's fueled by the desire for yield and inflationary pressures."
