Training and examination of NDT operators in Avesta Sandvik Tube

Avesta Sandvik Tube, AST, was established in 1984 through the merging into a single company of the product units for welded stainless steel tube of Fagersta Sandvik Tube, Nyby Uddeholm and Avesta. 75% of the shares are held by Avesta Sheffield AB and 25% by Sandvik AB. AST has manufacturing units at Fagersta, Torshaella and Storfors in Sweden, at Helmond in Holland and a subsidiary company, Finnpipe, in Finland. Tube made by AST is used in a great many different fields such as: 1. dairy and food industry; 2. power and nuclear power industry; 3. pulp and paper industry; 4. pharmaceutical industry; 5. offshore, oil and gas industry. AST's customers have high quality requirements and therefore NDT plays an important part in assuring the total tube quality.
