More Sources Sought For Key Explosive Devices In JPATS Program

The Defense Department is seeking more sources for key explosive devices used in the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System, a move urged in a recent assessment of an ailing sector of the U.S. industrial base. The cartridge-and-propellant-actuated-devices (CAD/PAD) joint program office "has given consideration to and is actively pursuing qualifying second source vendors for T-6 aircraft" in the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System program, said Emily Burdeshaw, a spokeswoman at Naval Air Systems Command.
