DOD Provides Energy Supportability Analysis To Congress

The Defense Department continues to focus on energy efficiency in the acquisition of its weapons systems, according to a new Pentagon report sent to Congress. Frank Kendall, the Pentagon's acquisition executive, told the Senate Armed Services Committee in a Aug. 6 letter that DOD is making progress toward "full implementation" of the energy supportability analysis requirement mandated by the Fiscal Year 2015 National Defense Authorization Act. "Consideration of fuel logistics support requirements in planning, requirements development and acquisition processes," Kendall wrote.
