While unmanned systems receive a lot of attention in discussions about the Navy's future, a think-tank report explains how the service is slow to fund and field these unmanned systems. In the wake of the Navy announcing the creation of two unmanned task forces in September, Mideast-based Task Force 59 and a service-wide task force, and releasing its Unmanned Campaign Framework earlier this year, analysts are looking for the next steps.
