Huntington Ingalls realigns TS businesses

Huntington Ingalls Industries said today it is realigning businesses within its technical solutions unit "to better serve existing and future customers while achieving support function efficiencies." The company said it has combined its fleet support and mission driven innovative solutions groups to create the defense and federal solutions group. Garry Schwartz, who headed the mission driven innovative solutions business, will lead the defense and federal solutions unit. "Schwartz retired from the Marine Corps as a senior officer in 2004 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the private sector and within HⅡ, with an emphasis on support to the defense and federal civilian markets," the com-pany said. There are now three business groups within technical solutions: defense and federal solutions, unmanned systems and nuclear and environmental services.
