PJM can implement day-ahead scheduled reserves market, new capacity export charge

In a trio of May 30 orders, the commission accepted PJM Interconnection's proposed day-ahead scheduled reserves (DASR) market as well as a capacity export charge, and granted an extension in the deadline for switching to an external market monitor.rnUnder terms of a settlement to restructure oversight of the grid operator's market (EL07-56, EL07-58) the current internal unit is breaking off as an independent company run by Market Monitor Joseph Bowring. An order approving the settlement set a June 1 date for the new monitoring regime, but in a May 12 motion, PJM President Terry Boston and Bowring said more time was needed (IF, 19 May, 10).
