The influence of treatment by ball-type rolling on the structure and properties of polycrystalline copper and aluminum surfaces is analyzed. It is discovered that, depending on the speed of the linear motion of the ball along the surface, two different types of deformation effect are realized, which result in considerably different surface morphologies. It is shown that treatment by ball-type rolling shrinks the width of X-ray diffraction lines compared to their original state. Dynamic recrystallization is assumed to be a significant factor affecting the morphology and structure of the treated surface.
