摘要

A method of producing silver hydrosols by dispersion in an arc discharge in water is proposed. Experiments and model calculations show that the size of the resulting silver nanoparticles of ~4 nm is close to the minimum possible size of a stable nucleus. The particles become larger over time; however, their average size does not exceed 0.5 μm even after long-term storage. Positive results on the use of silver hydrosols in veterinary medicine are obtained.
