Imagine riding the subway in New York City. You're chatting with your friends, deciding where to go for dinner and a movie. You find out they're not hungry, but you are, so you surf the wireless web and find a deli upstairs from the Houston Street station that takes orders by e-mail. You get off, grab your ready-made sandwich and get to the theater just as the lights go down. Most of this is already possible. The problem is, how can you send a message in a crowded, noisy environment without bothering everybody around you? And how do you type messages on the go, using one hand to type and the other carry a package or hold on to a handrail?
