Top Scientists Receive Inaugural President's Science and Technology Awards for Outstanding Contributions to R&D Landscape in Singapore

Eight outstanding research scientists and engineers received the inaugural President's Science and Technology Awards (PSTA) from President S R Nathan. The PSTAs are the highest honours bestowed on exceptional individuals and teams for their excellent achievements in science and technology, and their outstanding contributions to the research and development landscape in Singapore.rnThe most prestigious of the awards, the President's Science and Technology Medal (PSTM), was presented to Prof Miranda Yap from A~*STAR and the National University of Singapore's Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering for her sustained, distinguished and strategic contributions to Singapore's Biomedical Sciences landscape, particularly in the areas of developing the biologics industry sector, building the research culture and nurturing young talent.
