Altruism and idealism to advocate for greater worldwide equality in health, as well as a passion to learn and share experiences, are key motivating factors behind this. Yet, despite enthusiasm, incorporating global health and international experiences into your career can be challenging and may be met with resistance. This article will emphasize that incorporating global health and acquiring international experience throughout your career as a GP is both relevant and achievable. It will then go on to provide the information required in order to help take enthusiasm a stage further into action.
