摘要

We've all seen the television commercials where a scruffy band of Vikings follows unsuspecting folks who are about to charge items to their high-interest credit cards. When the savvy consumer whips out a Capital One card from his or her wallet, the hairy marauders slowly retreat. One looks directly into the camera and asks, "What's in your wallet?" For information professionals, the way we use tools is just as important as what is in our arsenals (aka our virtual wallets). If we don't know about new tools to help our clients, we may not be able to provide the high-quality service they expect. In April's Library Stuff Revisited, I introduced OPML and reading lists. This column will discuss how reading lists can help information professionals in their daily work, provide advice for creating reading lists, and offer pointers to a few relevant resources.
