Web 2.0 Alphabet: Part II

Last month, we explored the Web 2.0 alphabet from Ajax to meebo. This month, we're exploring N-Z, so let's pick up where we left off: Nis for Ning, an oddly named service that lets you "create, customize, and share your own Social Network for free in seconds." Well, we like any-thing that is free, and that's a good thing about Web 2.0 apps in general. Ning is one I really don't get, but appar- ently plenty of others do; thou- sands and thousands of net- works are listed on the site. I couldn't tell you how many are active. I'm not sure why some- one would choose this particu- lar social network rather than Facebook, for example, but a Library 2.0 Network exists here.
