As near as Carl Grant can remember, he has been to about 55 American Library Association (ALA) meetings over the years. While the president of Ex Libris North America thought the economy might lead to decreased attendance at this year's annual conference in Chicago last July, he says it turned out to be a good meeting. "Our booth traffic was much better than we expected, and we were pleasantly surprised," he says.
