I find it ironic that the medium where we read the most about the demise of the daily newspaper happens to be a newspaper. This is not to say that other media are not covering it; indeed many of the giant media companies are holding the debt on these media properties.rnOf course, the passing of the daily newspaper has been predicted for decades, long before the web went mainstream. Historians will note that every new mass media once threatened the previous one, and yet somehow they adapted. The newspaper, the magazine, the radio, and the television: Each adapted and now coexists with the others. It wasn't perfect; there were failures. But it also gave rise to success stories, even if it meant the number of traditional media outlets would fall under thernlikes of CNN, first in cable and then everywhere else. And then there is the eye candy of USA TODAY, the nation's newspaper.
