Institute for Web Science in the Works

In March, the U.K. prime minister announced the creation of an Institute for Web Science. At a press conference in London, Gordon Brown said that the University of Oxford and the University of South-ampton will partner to establish the in-stitute. Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of thernWorld Wide Wdb,and Nigel Shadbolt, pro-fessor of artificial in-telligence and deputyrnhead (research) of the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton, will lead the initiative.
