Apple's iBooks:New Kid on the Block

When Apple announced its foray into the e-educa-tion market with iBooks textbooks, the company's executives lauded the venture as "revolution- ary." However, Apple is certainly not a pioneer in this market: Ebooks emerged in the education space and in libraries at least 7 years ago. Since then, a number of digital textbook producers and elearning solutions providers, such as Inkling Sys- tems, Inc.; Moodlerooms, Inc.; and Cengage Learning, Inc., have been leading the way.
