The Case of the College Drop-Outs

The Chronicle of Higher Education's College Completion webpage shows that of the 4.3 million freshmen who started college in the fall of 2004, only about 1.2 million actually graduated. Last year's dropout rates jumped an estimated 10 percent compared to 2011. At some universities, an estimated 4 out of 10 students will fail to graduate. Despite government funding and programs, keeping students in school is becoming a real issue.
