The numbers were way up, and so was the buzz, as exciting technologies made it to market - or came a lot closer. The trade-show portion of SID 2001 -this year's edition of the Society for Information Display's annual International Symposium, Seminar, and Exhibition, which was held in San Jose, California, June 3-8, drew 7900 attendees to 523 exhibitor booths. That attendance represents a growth of 19.7% from last year's 6600 attendees, and the number of booths were up 21.1 % from last year's 432 (last year's numbers were records themselves).
