IFAI EXPO 2004: Profitable in Pittsburgh

IFAI Expo 2004 returned to the northeastern United States With a strong showing—more than 6,500 specialty fabric professionals came to Pittsburgh to profit from the cutting-edge seminars and the crowded show floor. The city extended a warm welcome to the exposition. "Pittsburgh fit us perfectly," says Steve Warner, Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) president. "We had the right location at the right time, and we addressed the right topics for our industry." Business was brisk on the show floor, and the mood was upbeat. "Our booth traffic has been huge," said exhibitor Nancy Brown, Elk-Performance Nonwoven Fabrics, Ennis, Texas. "I haven't been to another show with so much traffic." "As a new exhibitor, we are having a great show," said Jon We-instein, president and chief executive officer of Apex Plastic Industries Inc., Hauppauge, N.Y. "We should have done this years ago." The educational programs attracted many positive comments as well (see education coverage on page 35). "In the past few years, IFAI has made a quantum leap in the quality of the seminars offered at Expo," says Bill Smith with Industrial Textile Associates, Greer, S.C.
