摘要

The increased use of exoskeletons has helped ease physical strain on workers in retail, industry and warehouses by supplementing manual duties. But a new study from The Ohio State University Spine Research Institute has found they can have a downside by putting an extra burden on workers' brains, as reported by Ohio State News (news.osu.edu). The study, conducted in partnership with researchers from Texas A&M University, found that workers wearing exoskeletons while performing physical tasks sometimes found themselves competing with the wearable devices rather than working in tandem with them. "It's almost like dancing with a really bad partner," said William Marras, the senior author of the study as well as professor of integrated systems engineering, director of the Spine Research Institute and an IISE member.
