Shapiro, Meiler chosen for NAE honors

Two IISE members, Alexander A. Shapiro and Russell D. Meller, have been selected to the 2020 class of inductees to the National Academy of Engineering, the highest honor in the engineering profession. They are among 105 newly elected national and international members to be inducted at NAE's annual meeting Oct. 4 in Washington, D.C. Shapiro is Russell Chandler III chair and professor at Georgia Tech's H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. The NAE commended him for "contributions to the theory, computation, and application of stochastic programming."
