Refactories - Trend and New Developments

摘要

After a general characterization of the refractories the reasons for the decrease with regard to the used quantities are estimated. Special attention is paid to general trends such as increasing use of unshaped products, increasing application of raw materials and products which have not been subjected to a thermal pretreatment as well as required recycling of refractory materials. Some fundamental trends of materials development in the field of refractories are discussed. Some definite statements are given relating to carbonaceous products and the general optimization of the structure.
