Development of new vendors and enhancing product range of existing vendor is very crucial for maintaining the health of supply chain in the Railway System. Keeping this objective in mind, Ministry of Railways have decided to hold Vendor Meets on Pan-India basis across the length and width of the India at various locations specially Industrial Centres of the Country. Out of 25 vendor meets being organised, 17th such meet was organised at Ludhiana, the Industrial capital of Punjab on 15 May, 2019 at Sohan Lai Pahwa Convention Centre situated at Industrial Nerve Centre of Ludhiana. The meet was inaugurated by Shri TP Singh, General Manager, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala & Northern Railway. This meet was organised by Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala in association with Northern Railway and a large numbers of vendors from Punjab & adjoining States like Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi & Jammu & Kashmir along with Trade Bodies CICU Ludhiana, NSIC Northern Zone, MSME, CII Punjab Chapter and Senior Officers from Railway Board, Northern Railway, RCF, RDSO, RITES & CRIS participated in the meet.
