CRB Holds Pan Railways' Safety Performance Review Meeting

Chairman, Railway Board Shri Ashwani Lohani, held a detailed safety performance review meeting of Indian Railways with all Railway Board Members and General Managers of Zonal Railways and Chairman & Managing Director, Konkan Railway on 29 September, 2018 through video-conferencing. With constant focus on 'Safety' and related infrastructure enhancement works; there has been a perceptible improvement in the safety performance of Indian Railways in the last twelve months (1 September, 2017 to 31 August, 2018). The number of consequential train accidents during this period has come down to 75 as compared to 80 in the corresponding previous twelve months. There has been appreciable reduction in number of serious train accidents thereby leading to significant reduction in fatalities from 249 to 40 and Injuries from 513 to 57.
