摘要

An efficient method for detection of inrush current in distribution transformer utilizing wavelet transform technique, is presented in this paper. The technique proposed has the ability to detect and furthermore classify different transformer faults. This work discriminate inrush current from many types of transients common in distribution transformer systems such as load switching, capacitor switching and single phase to ground fault. Then simulation results for many transients occuring in a typical distribution system are presented and approach for fault identification is proposed. Results in all cases obtained in MATLAB environment, show the effectiveness of proposed procedure in identifying faults.
