Prediction of long term compressive strength of concrete made with supplementary cementitious material through regression analysis

摘要

The use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in cement is gaining popularity due to various advantages such as improved workability, higher compressive strength, better durability etc. When such SCMs are incorporated in concrete, the hydration process is influenced by the physical and chemical properties of SCMs used and are reflected in the strength development. Moreover, the pozzolanic property of different SCMs results in strength gain at different ages. In this study, models have been proposed to predict a long term (90 days) strength through early age strength (7 days) for concrete made with different SCMs. It is found that the proposed models are effective in predicting the long term compressive strength of concrete made with different SCMs at 7 days itself. Further, it is found that among all the SCMs considered in this study, metakaolin gains strength at faster rate whereas fly ash is the slowest.
