Gillie Potter died in May last year, and I remember well the very warm celebration of his life that took place after his funeral service, at which his family and friends were able to enjoy the premiere of our DVD about his life and work, which in a way meant that he would live on for ever. Gillie and I had an enormous amount of fun making the programme, and he was extremely keen that we should get it completed, so that his techniques and his overall philosophy would be available to instruct and inspire both students and established film-makers in the future.
