Alarm Coalition Makes Right Kind of Noise, as HTSI Eyes New Initiatives

Five months after its kickoff, the National Coalition for Alarm Management Safety is making its voice heard. Spearheaded by the AAMI Foundation's Healthcare Technology Safety Institute, the coalition, which has about 80 members, includes hospital personnel and representatives from the medical device industry. It is focusing on how some leading healthcare facilities and manufacturers are tackling the challenge of alarm fatigue. The coalition has organized and hosted three webinars looking at what steps facilities have taken to improve alarm management.
