We are developing a system for a visually impaired person to learn kanji writing using a haptic interface. Kanjis (Chinese characters) have complicate stroke constructions. A kanji is made up of several components, and required long transition distances between components while writing it without sight lead unbalanced shape. To cope with this difficulty we assist user's pen control by supplying haptic forces on his stylus pen. Our main concerns are providing a sense of distance of pen moves as well as- providing a pseudo-sense of writing on the paper. The system is aimed at repeated self-learning of writing a balanced kanji without help of other people.%力覚デバイスを用いた視覚障がい者の書字を訓練するシステムの開発を行っている.漢字は字形が複雑で,筆運びが大きく書字中に筆画の位置関係が不安定になる.本システムは,力覚デバイスからペンに適当な力覚を送ることで,学習者の運筆を制御し,これにより,書字中の距離感が得られるとともに,紙の上の筆記感触と類似の感覚で訓練が行え,字形のとれた書字を,教師なしで繰り返し学習することを可能とする.
