Three-phase AC-DC PWM converters are becoming more and more popular in motor drive system, UPS and other applications. However, compared with that of diode rectifiers, the cost of PWM converter is too high, especially when the output capacity is less then l0kVA because sensing devices (current/voltage sensors) and control devices (micro- processors or DSP) are neccesary.
